Coblet is now home from being backed and going nicely, he seems to like being ridden and getting to go out and about, taking it all in his stride. But I have noticed that he doesn't have very clear breathing, the girl backing him noticed this too but has said it doesn't affect it, it's just like he's snotty.

He's not rattly or anything, just doesn't sound that clear. He makes funny gruff noisies when out but seems this is just his thing, he hasn't got any problem with the work or recovering once he's been trotting etc or really any trouble breathing, just wondering if there's anything I can do to help him out? And if anyone else has a horse that makes funny noisies when riding lol!

Thanks peeps :)

I really rate Winergy Ventilate, not cheap but the only breathing supplement I have ever known to make a real difference. However, I have never had a horse that is particularly noisy so think a vet check might be in order.

Could be a number of things!
Allergies, infection, ROA or COPD or just whatever people call it now.
Could be inflamed airways, or a injury/ deformation.

Seriously - I lost my once in a lifetime mare to COPD last year at the grand age of 24 (for her, good age!)- its manageable. I only mention it as hers only appeared with work.

Get the Vet out - Get a proper diagnosis - and deal with or manage it :D
Sounds like he is doing well :)

Ah didn't think about anything like that because it doesn't seem to stop him from breathing fine but I'll get the vet to check him over just in case.
