What would people recommend as a supplement for elderly horses with Cushing's? My boss has asked me to research one which is low in iron, but with zinc, copper and selenium - I'm clueless about feeding!

my horse has cushings and I feed formula4feet as its important to keep their feet in good condition.it has a long list of vits and mins, cant tell you exactly what is in it but try googling..

I use this company for herbal supplements, they are very good - this is their Cushings range: http://www.equinatural.co.uk/epages/BT3755.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3755/Categories/Cushings In terms of the vitamin and mineral supplement that has no iron and nothing unwanted (i.e. oatfeed, wheatfeed etc) in it, this is the one I use for the base of their diet and my horses (from a 2 year old to a 20 year old with Cushings) do very well on it. http://www.equimins-online.com/vits-mins/713-equimins-advance-concentrate-pellets.html

Not a suppliment as such but I've just moved my oldie onto Allen and Page Veteran Vitality and we've had such good results that half of my yard are using it now! lol

I've got my 14 year old 16.3hh ISH gelding on it and my 15.3hh CBx mare on it and BOTH love it and they look incredible.

The other one I'd highly recommend if it is just a suppliment you want is Joint Aid for Horses by GWF Nutrition. My mare is quite stiff and is great after being on this.

Veteran vitality is a good feed but NOT suitable for a laminitic and would not feed it to a cushings sufferer.
Equimins advance complete is a fab all round supplement to provide vits/mins and has high copper/zinc and NO IRON, I would also add Chestetree berries ( spelling)
