I have a 5yr old OTTB. She's in 24hrs a day at the moment because she's lame. She is on hay and one feed a day of Alfa-A and calm and condition. Her feed isn't big at all. She's an ok weight at the moment considering she isn't in work and doesn't have much muscle. She could do with more weight on her but I don't want to be feeding her up when she's stuck in.

She's going through just under a bale of hay a day at the moment :S And it is all coming out the other end quite quickly! Her poo isn't runny, there is just LOADS of it! I take 2 wheelbarrows a day out and that doesn't include bedding.

Is this normal?! I've never known a horse to eat and poo quite so much! Would something like Pink Powder help her digest the hay and get more out of it? Or anything else to recommend? She will be on haylage in a few weeks once they are all in for the winter so hopefully that will help, but a bit short of ideas right now!
