I dont beleive a supplement can stop a pony from getting laminitis. Laminitis can be caused by many things. What was the cause of yours?

I would say forget the supplement and do just good old fashioned laminitis prevention.

Feed low energy feed, lots of fibre. Watch amount of grass, dont let him/her get over weight, soak hay, lots of exercise to increase circulation in legs but watch out for concussion as that can cause lami. So watch trotting on roads/hard ground etc and they should be fine. If you dont do any of the above feeding a supplement isnt going to make a difference.

Formula4Feet - worth getting the sack as it works out cheaper and lasts about 4 months for a horse so if a pony maybe longer - works out about 50p a day. Gives all the macro and micro nutrients needed to promote hoof growth in a laminitic. Also very palatable - is apple flavoured - give them a call as they will send you a sample to try - no point in buying it your horse/pony won't eat it!:)

I used for my cob who has laminitis as part of here treatment and management regime given to me by The Laminitis Clinic.

If you are giving your horse a balanced diet in the first place they are receiving all the nutrients they need for healthy hooves. Micro minerals are called that as they only need them in small quantities not in a bundence.

Feed a balanced diet, using a balancer if your not feeding a recommended ration and then no need to spend money on yet another supplement that doesnt need to fed.

Good management is the only way to prevent laimintis - supplements like Farriers Formula or Formula4feet can balance out any deficiencies and help in the healing process.

If it is trauma induced because of conformation I would follow your vets advice and also ring the Laminitis Clinic and see if you can speak to one of their experts, I have found them very helpful when my mare got stress-induced lami from colic surgery.

Thanks I realise that but when my horse was in an acute Laminitic attack I was following the advice of the The Laminitis Clinic and folowing the diet needed for a permanently stabled horse for at least 4 moinths before even starting rehab.

Now she is 'normal' again she has no supplements and just a strict management programme - then she needed extra support to aid the healing process in her hooves and to rebalance her metabolic system. When it is acute Laminitis it need more support and help than just a normal balanced diet.

I understand the use of it here but i thought the OP was talking about prevention of laminitis not a supplement for a horse who has it already. maybe be i read it wrong.

Sorry but i just think we use too many supplements these days when they are probably not really needed if we are doing everything else properly.
