Who's using what at the moment? Are any better than others? Last year we were on Equimins, just looking at Suppleaze Gold and Riaflex. Any other recommendations?

My mare has arthritis in her legs, I have had good success with Premierflex Plus as a supplement, though I am considering Boswelia too

Synequin, my mare has never been better and shes only been on it a short time.

It is initially but once you get past the loading dose it works out quite reasonable and its made up of pure ingredients, not got fillers or sugars etc. Theres a horse on our yard that has 1 scoop every other day and it lasts him months. I have just got past the loading dose and my horse will be on 1 scoop a day for the next phase before she maybe goes onto 1 every other day. I cant stress enough how much better she is...

I had mine on Synequin but changed to Suppleaze Gold when the insurance ran out.
I saw an improvement when on the Gold and the price is very reasonable.

Just seen an old post on here from Janet George saying Riaflex is the same as Synequin but cheaper...have to say I gave her bute again last night even though we were trying to stay off of it.

I think if you loom at the composition of the ones mentioned, it may help make up your mind.
I compared Riaflex (I think it was that one) and Suppleaze Gold. The latter had more concentrate of active ingredients.

I use suppleaze gold and highly recommend it - very competitively priced and I've seen a big difference in my TB who had his hock injected last July. I also use it on my little mare who also gets boswellia, which I also rate.

I have been using both boswellia and turmeric plus linseed but I feel she needs either more lubrication or pain killer - not sure how to weigh it al up tbh!

Just been having a quick look (I should be outside!) and correct me if I'm wrong but when you look at the amount you have to give and loading doses Equimins Flexijoint still works out the best value? Any comments on this? (Also getting a bit confused between mgs and mcgs now).

I use a mobility supplement that is a mix of Boswellia, Glucosamine and MSM. The glucosamine is 99% pure and its under £30 for a months supply. It definitley keeps my older boy, who has had his hocks and SI injected, more comfortable.

Fatponee - are you seeing any results yet?

Amazingly, yes I think so! Mare has just been diagnosed with kissing spines. Bute doesn't help at all, and ks is too extensive for steroid injections. She has been on Suppleaze Gold this year but no difference seen. Bought the Fleximover as a last ditch attempt to help her. She's been on it only a week, and yesterday I saw her cantering in the field, plus she also saw fit to barge past me out of her stable to trot around the yard! I think it's safe to say it's having a positive effect on her lol!

Are you/do you ride her fatponee?
JillA rosehips are very good for arthritis but they were conflicting with one of my medications when I took them for myself lol

Unfortunately no we can't ride her. She had to be retired 2 weeks ago : ( She's on a supplement to try to ease any pain/discomfort she's in as she's losing weight...looooong story.

Have you tried feeding good old linseed oil? My ex-racer has fetlock arthritis and linseed oil is the only thing that seems to help him. The equine vet that he saw fully supported using it too.

Hmmm, well before my mare had her bone scan, we did a bute test. My vet told me that if she had arthritis, the bute would have helped. Could it be that there's something else going on with your mare? Sorry, I don't mean to worry you, just trying to help!
