Hi All,

My horse seems to of had just everything wrong with him in the year i have owned in, including being diagnosed with a tumour and pin worms that i just could not shift to name a few!!!

Out hacking about a month ago he managed to spook at something in the trees and pulled the tendons in his front leg!

Is there any supplements that can aid or speed up the repair that anyone knows of ????

try ringing Global Herbs they have a product called tendoneze. I have never used it but the company and its products are very good. It is a veterinary based company so you should be able to talk to a vet. Also possible try Back on Track leg wraps they are supposed to be good.

Just a couple of thoughts.

My mare was on bog-standard MSM, mostly to aid my coping with the situation rather than with the hope that it would actually help. Time is the best remedy, along with rest. I thought there couldn't be much harm in feeding her MSM as it was relatively cheap - she tore her DDFT three years ago (blimey!) and was given a 25% chance of return to full work, vet told me to give in... she's now a happy hack wrapped up in cotton wool but she walks, trots and canters out quite happily. So it certainly didn't harm her as we doubted we'd ever sit on her at all!

brillient stuff also try cortaflex with it sorted out one of my mares

MSM yes, and look also at "cold laser" therapy. It has a good track record in clinical trials on tendon injury repair. You can buy single diode pens on eBay for £60ish and full machines for about £300. I am having very good results on a very serious tendon injury from a kick with one.

My mare tore her DDFT (diagnosed Sept 09) and she has NAF Msm daily and will continue to do so. I believe its good for her, shes sound and doing really well. I used magnetic leg wraps (Premier Equine) to help her in her recovery. Lots of walking out and time are key factors with recovery.
