Supplements to strengthen immune system

Hi All,

I have a sensitive 6 year old Dales Pony that I need feeding advice for.

He is currently fed Thunderbrooks herbal chaff and grass pony nuts plus soaked hay. He is out during the day and stabled at night.

He is allergic to Alfalfa (brings him out in hives), particularly itchy/scurfy during the summer and recently developed a small, Verrucous Sarcoid under his elbow (but not near the girth and of no significant size/no weeping so am leaving alone).

I would like to look to add a supplement to his feed to help strengthen his immune system, in particular with anti-inflammatory properties but unsure where to start as options are quite overwhelming.

I would love to hear your experiences whether good or bad as I don't quite know where to start.

Thanks in advance.

I'd add a mineral supplement with no iron and high copper and zinc, 50gms of linseed and some salt. I use Equimins but there are others. It wont strenthen an immune system as supplements cant really do that, but it will improve the quality of his skin, coat and feet.

As a basis nutritionally, vitamin A,C,E and selenium. Assess those levels in diet currently and add-in whatever is lacking.
