I'm getting really sick of buying rugs and having to pay or struggle myself to put tucks in the surcingles because they are miles too long!

I keep my horses at the correct weight and surcingles used to fit but every rug I've bought in the last year or so has ridiculously long surcingles. Very few other people on my yard seem to have this problem (most of their horses are overweight!) and I can only assume that horses are just getting fatter so the manufacturer's are making rugs to fit them.

Mine are have the buckle in about the middle on my big lad, never come across anyone who has found them too long a their shortest on any rug, what a weirdly skinny horse you must have in comparison to its length :D

i have to knot mine as my boy takes 6'9 rugs but is not big enough around for them yet! Only thing is make sure every now and then you undo them and then knot them again. I rugged in the field to find I needed to let them out and they were plastered in mud and stuck fast.....
