I have two SureFlap microchip catflaps in my house. The larger pet door gets a lot of abuse from direct sun in summer, driving rain and wind in winter and a very very determined Bengal who beats the hell out of it to break in and steal food. Due to the rough treatment it gets the plastic door started to crack and the magnets on the bottom rusted away rendering the door useless. I tried to find a replacement but they don’t seem to make them as a spare part so I resigned myself to having to buy a whole new unit at around £90. On the off chance I emailed Sureflap to tell them the door was broken and they immediately messaged back asking for the serial number and my address so they could send me a new one free of charge. Within 24 hours I received the spare door which I fitted this afternoon.

The catflap is 7 years old and they could have made a hundred quid out of me but they didn’t. That is what I call great customer service.

How does the connect work? I’m not very tech savvy so don’t really know what the benefits would be.
You can change the settings remotely, also different in out settings for each cat if you wish.
I did look at these but just got the std battery microchip Sureflap last Autumn (on your recco, and E cat v happy with it)

I'm not very tech savvy myself but found it very easy to set up. Every time a cat enters or leaves it sends a notification to your phone, it will also notify you if an unknown ( to the flap ) looks through the flap/window. I don't change any of the settings but you can set them for individual cats as TFF has said. I can't be any more helpful than that as I'm not great with tech. I bought it as I wanted to check that they were all able to come and go as they wanted and I can see when someone has had trouble going in and out.

ETA I would recommend them as I love seeing what they are up to when I am not around.

Bit of a random question but has anyone ever had issues with flap not opening in time if cat is running / leaps in? Looking at getting one due to another cat getting into the house but don't want mine faceplanting into it if he comes at speed!

Mine learned to slow down, he got the hang of it inside the week tho and has his huge speed down to a fine art!
