Evening All,
I was hoping someone might have some suggestion for the centre of our new yard? The stables are on concrete, and there is a concrete apron around the front of the stables too, however I would like something to fill in the U shape....
I don't want to concrete it; I can't justify the cost, and I want to let the horses roam in it over the winter so it doesn't seem sensible.
So, currently the top soil is scraped back, and we have 4-6 " of rolled and compacted carrstone aggregate down. So, considerations are gravel.....but that will look a state with hay won't it? Road planing or scalpings, but they are hens teeth here on the Norfolk Cambs border, and the builder is off on another job now so I would have to wait for it to be compacted....
Or, I considered wood fibre? Proper stuff, ....would there be any issues to that do you think? It wouldn't need to be deep as we have the full stone base. Or perhaps rubber crumb? Would it need sand with it if so?
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks everyone!
