Surface for Horse Walker

I'm in the process of testing what surface is best for an outdoor horsewalker (with no roof) on and would appreciate hearing from anyone who owns and maintains it to know what surface you think is best. Whilst I do appreciate all responses, I would particularly only really want to hear from those of you who actually do the poo-picking and it raking over each day, to tell me what you find good or bad, especially when it's been pouring of rain onto the surface all day! Thanks.

And it looks as if rubber dog bone bricks will be the best. The best quote I've got so far is from Quattro http://rubber-matting-resin-floors.com/page3.htm £3,500 for a 50' horse walker with 8'3" walkway.
