my horse has damaged both hind suspensory ligaments and after shock wave and rest and bringing into slow return to work hes showing signs of them still causing pain. after nerve blocks today the vets feel that surgery is the best option for him. Has anyone any experience of this and if so jow well did it work? my lad is an ex race horse and has mild kissing soine and SI damage which is managed by work. annax

Ex pony had the neurectomy and fasciotomy operation nearly four years ago now in the right hind. He was box rested afterwards for two weeks, then walked in hand building up for two weeks, then allowed onto a small paddock, gradually building that up to so he was out 24/7 after a few months

Started to ride him after that, he's been sound ever since, although I don't have him anymore, he's jumping and everything now!

My girl is oon box rest having aggravated both hind suspensories but there are not tears/significant damage. We have medicated twice with steroids and now on box rest till mid sept so wait & see time. Vet very confident and certainly legs are looking alot better than they were! best of luck
