Hi all,

I have asked before about yards in Surrey around the Ripley area but it is now looking more definate and I will start looking around yards in the next few weeks.

Being a newbie to the area it is difficult finding yards that don't have websites so any I would have missed would be great.

I am looking for part/full livery for my maxi cob gelding, very friendly so I would prefer him to be in group turnout. Somewhere where you are welcome in the evenings as I work full time. A school is a must with access to jumps and xc. I don't have my own transport at the moment so somewhere near events would be great, even better would be the use of a lorry as I really want to get out showing him more this year.

Below are the yards I have written down to pay a visit to if they have vacancies, please could you pm me any information on any other yards. Ones to stay away from would be great to, but only by pm please

I have only visited the first yard on my list which I loved, but that was earlier in the year when it was all a distant plan so need to get searching again...

Sorry for going on and on but here goes

I have never kept horses at any of these places, but I am familiar with the area as I live in this part of Surrey.

Great Bookham and Pachesham both hold a lot of competitions on-site and both have multiple arenas. I think the hacking is probably much better at Great Bookham than
Pachesham which is right by a gypsy camp and a council dump.

If you like to hack, then Denbies will have very good hacking too.

I think there are a few in here that are at Denbies?
Pac has all the facilities, transport share a probability but you need to do roads before you get the hacking
GBEC has good facilities but shame the schools arent larger, fab hacking

Thank you Tracey and Prittstick.

Yes I found out about Denbies that way, well through the showring forum

Mmm that knocks Pac' down a bit, luckily my horse is fine with roads but it is lovely when you don't have to.

If you know of any other yards I would appreciate it - thank you!!

Abony is good but there is a wait list - but its part of another yard called Bridley Manor and they have vacancies I think. 2 Schools, xc course, hacking round farm, close to merrist wood, abony holds lots of clinics and in yard comps wihich are open to bridley liveries. always people there in the evenings.
Another one might be worth looking at is Mazamboni in pirbright, they also have a website.

Hi there is also Bridleways equestrian centre just up the road from Great bookham equestrian, I used to work there and it's nice and friendly, sally may have a vacany there, it has a large floodlit school and 24 hr supervision and it leads straight onto the bridlepath, which also goes down to great bookham EC, they have shows, and the riding around there is fab, I really miss it.
Hope that helps.

Chippings farm in cobham
Lower Farm in Cobham
Hazlewood in Little Bookham

Lower Farm has a small XC course, all are super friendly. Floodlit school at each yard and fab hacking at each yard can PM you but only if you want to know! dont want to hassle!
