I loan Idiotpony on a private yard near to Kingston bypass, near Old barn, Chessington yards etc.

I'm from Greenwich and don't know the area too well. So I kinda stick to the same routes that I've been shown at the start, around Elm farm/claygate common way.

But I'd like to know new routes, I've been looking today riding over to Princes Covert but the interweb tells me you need a key to ride there? Does that include the 60 acre wood part as well?

Can I pass through it to get to Ashtead common/Newton Wood area?

You do tend to need a key to get into princes covert. If I were you I would enquire at chessington/ manor farm or slough farm to see if you could get a hacking buddy to head out with? Feel free to pm

You do need a key for Princes Coverts.

Littleworth Common is nice and generally has good ground all year (although it can get a bit soggy in places). Arbrook Common is good too and you can then go on to Esher Common, which has some lovely sand tracks for cantering.

I am local to the area, so do PM me if you would like more information.
