My saddler has worn by patience a little too thin by not showing up for a second time! So pretty please may you recommend me some Surrey (albury) sadlers. Thank u in advance.

Bookham saddlery made me a lovely nose band and fitted a saddle for me quite a long time ago, which seemed fine.
Meadow lea saddlery is very good, she stays for ages watching you ride to make sure its right.

It's funny but I've looked along the list and there is one name I got so fed up waiting for my new saddle to arrive (6+ months and plenty of excuses later) that I cancelled the order and have never used them since!! Ellie was very good but couldn't offer me a second hand saddle, hence trying Helen and have been with her for some time now.

Spragg turning up at our yard and lighting up cigarettes without asking got my back up right away this week! One of.our liveries couldn't get hold of ellie as she is soo busy. I've given up with local saddlets and pay steph bloom to come out from native pony AMD cob saddles.

Thank u already know of 3 of the saddles recommended and am not that keen ( I hope that is a diplomatic way of putting it) any more suggestions? Has anyone used the chap from Equitogs ?

I've used spraggs & guy barrett, looking for a new saddler too;)
Have used Louise Howson in the past and think I'll get her out this time as have been happy before.

I also use Helen, she is reliable, very knowledgeable and helpful - she never rushes her work as well. I've also heard that she helped to develop the Fairfax girth, is that true?

Some others on my yard have Ellie and I've never found her to be particularly pleasant - always late without an apology and a bit domineering on the yard. I think she's let success go to her head. I've also used Adrian from Buttons and he's a great saddler, but was 1.5 hours late for my appointment and then took far longer than he said to re-flock my saddle so I wasn't impressed!

Interesting comment. Knowing Ellie as I do I wonder what you lot did to annoy her? she is ALWAYS on time, be it the beginning or the end of the day and is incredibly discreet. She knows our yard very well but still never passes comment - doesn't even let her dog out. She does not offer a lot in the way of chit chat if you don't know her but that is because she is least gossipy equine person I know! You say domineering... so I presume the horses and owners were all ready when she arrived? with saddles ready for checking? or not?!!

and for the poster who said they wouldn't touch 3 out of the approved saddlers mentioned, while you might think you might be being discreet, you have actually tarnished all the saddlers with the same brush which obviously was not your intention..
