Surrey Union people

They are holding a newcomers meet this year, which is a really good intro to hunting with them if you have not before...and you can ask when you meet everyone.

The newcomers meet sounds great - but alas, I am on a plane back from the US on the same day :(

I would quite like to do some of the autumn hunting - although my horse is fine with dogs around, it might be a bit different with a working pack of hounds. But I understand that that's invitation only?

The early days are invite only but that is because of this years puppies, and that is the first two or three dates I think. I will ask Ian tomorrow and PM you.

Just to clarify, I *do* jump, but on a first hunt I'd rather be able to easily opt out while I get my bearings, if you know what I mean?

Am very excited about it though :)

There's loads of non jumping days, and often a non jumping field master too, which is great as it means you can pick and choose a bit if your horse is green.

If you could PM the dates of easier meets that would be great. I used to hunt as a tennager, and then went to the newcomers meet and loved it!

Of course I am more than happy to contact the secretary for dates and exact locations. I was more hoping that someone who hunts with SU could help me out with some reccomendations of meets as I am relativily new to the area, and havent hunted for a long time. :)

I used to hunt with the Surrey Union years ago, and used to work for Mr Hammond one of the masters and looked after his horses Boxer and Gloria, I also used to look after Ian Gilchrists horse Basil and I sold my lovely big horse Rocky to Graham Rand.
