My friends mare has just had a gamma scan and other investigations for ongoing lameness and they've decided it's the suspensory in her off fore and off hind. They said they don't think she'll recover on the hind leg...

Can anyone give any advise?
Thank you :)

What area of the suspensory? Mine has PSD in all 4 legs, the off fore and off hind was much worse than the near side.

I have done quite a lot of research on internet as mine has also had a mid suspensory injury to his off fore 3 years ago which was rescanned and hasn't changed. There seems to be a huge variation from horse to horse. Mine is expected to lightly hack but no more. He's 5.

Mines just had surgery to hind leg prp treatment and shock wave. His nerve has been cut (nuerectomy and fascioctomy(sp). His prognosis is good hes only 5 too.The mare at our yard went in same day for same treatment to front leg and her treatment has good outcome too.If theres anything you want to ask pm me more than happy to give any info.:D

Thank you, not sure of the full details as this is a friends horse, I know this horse cannot be stabled, is extremely flighty and nervous. They have offered the nerve cutting thing and shock wave but the horse was struggling with the amount of prodding and poking already so she needed a rest from it. I'll find out some more details :)

no problem :) my boy is on 4 weeks box rest he has staples out monday and can have little inhand grazing.Restricted t/o is after month box rest.Fortunately although little nervous when he came home hes settled lovely to rest and is being perfect patient.
