Wondering if anyone has any experience of horse coming back to work after suspensory tear? Have 14yr old mare back in work after 10 months off always had really clean legs now puffing up. Hav had rescanned and suspensory 100% but fluid which i cant get rid of. Cant help being worried and jus wondering if this is normal enough she is back in work about two months

My mare had this and her legs do as you describe. HOWEVER, after much leaving them alone, bandaging in stable and generally tearing my hair out I have found that the best thing to remove the swelling is to work her!

She's still sound and if your mare is also still sound I would suggests it's just fluid build up and not anything more sinister - particularly if she has scanned clear.

My horse split his DDFT and had a lot of swelling. A friend recommended Windgall from Global Herbs and it helped within a few days. I use this when horse is stabled over night during the winter. Exercise is the best and stable bandages when stabled too.
