My 10 y o gelding suffered suspensory ligamnt damage in 2006. Difficult decision in choosing treatment route but finally chose the surgery. I do not regret that decision as he is making a slow but steady return to normality.
Beware the intelligence of your horse - they definitely become familiar with the human reaction to their pain symptoms are are able to feign them at the drop of a hat - especially when they feel the effort of rehab exercise becomes a bit much!!
