My boy ruptured both fron suspensories and was back in work 4 weeks later! He had nearly pulled them from the bone aswell!

He went to the spa at newmarket and had a spa twice a day! The vets scanned him at 7 day intervals and were impressed with the filling in and how strong he was.

Most of the yards in newmarket have their own spas now and the racehorses are back galloping after suspensories after 8 weeks.

Good luck!

sue dyson is suspensory queen - she'll look after him for you. they can come right with rest and time and conservative treatments like spas and hydrotherapy.

I had a horse do it once. Plenty of rest then walking out in hand. She had 6 months off in a field after walking in hand and came back as right as rain!

Wishing you the best of luck in this hard time.

it really depends on the horse. Some ligaments heal very quickly some never return to how they were previously but as they were not completely torn it should be fine. There will be lots of walking then introduction of a small field, lunging then a large field and ridden work.
