Suspensory Ligament Injuries

Hi Guys!
With suspensory ligament injuries, what degree of lameness would be present? Any heat, swelling? If so, where would be the most likely please for this to be present? Would a horse be intermittantly lame, or lame all the time? I'm just asking out of pure nosiness!

Depends how high up the injury is, mine was PSD higher up, there was no swelling, no heat; Undetected for 6 months ( had to go for second opinion) roughly 5/10 lame all the time. Had a neurectomy in October last year, and is now 90% sound, but has good/bad days. Cannot jump again and used only for a plod around the village! Hind leg suspensory injuries are much harder to diagnose.
 
Is a fore or hind leg? My mare did her suspensory near fore last year, came sound enough to resume work but has never stayed sound enough to do any meaningful work. Also she now has problems in opposite fore limb from trying to 'save' the other one. Going back 2 vet this week for scans but vet recommending loss of use claim and retiral.
 
My old horse injured the lateral branch of his hind suspensory ligament, he was seriously lame, wouldnt trot even. Vet thought his was on the point of total rupture though so I guess this is an extreme case of pain for them hence why he was so lame
