Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone had experience of using a product called suspensory saver for suspensory ligament injuries. My horse has recently been diagnosed with an injury to a lateral branch of a rear suspensory and overall strain on the suspensory system. We're going ahead with the whole corrective shoeing, box rest with controlled exercise regime but was reading about this product and wondering if it actually works?? Would welcome any other suggestions, thanks

Yes, it is advertised as a feed supplement with constituent nutrients which are supposed to promote healing of suspensory ligament injuries. It is supplied by valleyvet.com and is $200 for 90 days supply. Not sure if there is an evidence base for it, was hoping for some anecdotal evidence at least before paying for it!!

Hi Fullofjump,

I used this product as my previous horse damaged his near hind suspensory and was 3/10ths lame on the leg nd getting progressively worse (even on box rest, corrective shoeing) so decided to try this. Unfortunately it made no difference but the horse was also diagnosed with kissing spines so there is a small chance that these were both linked and that no supplement would help anyway. There is a cheaper alternative by Equimins which has pretty similar ingredients - found this out after buying the suspensory saver.
