I have noticed a lump on my grey's eyebrow, one near his bottom and 2 on the side of his sheath.

They are very small.

Do I monitor them or do I get the vet? Not sure what to do.

Thanks

Can you ring the vet for a chat thats what I do before I make the decision to call out.I would also take a photo and measurements.
Sorry to hear you have another problem Ive just had to make another phone call Ollies in the wars again. J

What is it with horses? Always getting injuries or lumps!!

Great idea to take a photo, will do that, thank you.

Will talk to the vet tomorrow.

Hope Ollie is ok. Poor accident prone Ollie

Hi H
his incident with post must have unnerved him a little.I stood cold hosing his leg from kick injury he was really good but didnt want to walk past hose so rather than stress him out I tied him up rally loosely on quick release knot.I was putting the hose away and something upset him.I didnt know but the day before another horse had pulled at the same place with farrier and must have weakend the fixture.the yo had put up new twine and used the thick instead of the thin twine Ollie pulled back and the panel came off. This time he went crashing up to his field with timber and nails attached .He has a few nicks and cuts and is sore from wood bashing his legs but no swelling or lesions.Im out today to buy some equities.I dont trust the quick release lead ropes any more they dont work.I wont be tying him up anymore either.Hes fine if Im with him but obviously worries on his own.Unbelievable I feel so guilty normally Im so careful.
When you see vet let me know how it goes. One of the girls on my yard has had the same lumps on her horse and has been successfully treated .No more lumps visible they were on top of the eye and on the sheath. The vet used a topical cream on the sheath area and it burnt his away. His eye was very enlarged so he had injections but Im sure you have caught yours early.Thats why I suggested photos and measurements.Good luck J x

Oh J!!

Its not your fault, Ollie obviously has a very good memory and being a TB is a bit of a drama king. It will take time and patience for him to get over it, but he will.

From the sounds of it, Ollie is lucky not to have worse injuries, bet your heart was in your mouth at the time.

You have done everything you could, quick release knots etc.

Jake went through a phase of pulling back everytime he was tied up deliberately, pulling the tie rings off. He is OK now, but I do not 100% trust him tried up. He is a clever bggr!

I hope Ollie gets over his injuries and shock, as well as you.

Red wine time.

Vet is seeing Jake the week after next, will keep you posted.
Thanks for the tip off.

Looked ok this morning.I left him out last night thinking if he was stiff restricted excercise would be better.I wanted to avoid flies so I brought him in this morning because I had a early call for breakfast at pony camp had to be up at 5.30.He looked all refreshed when I put him back out at lunch time he had laid in his new bed for a snooze and has clean megazorb stuck to all the patches of cream I dabbed all over him.Dont think hes to stiff as he had a good old roll when he went in his paddock.
Jakes putting you through it as well. Will have to have virtual bottle of red wine online lol
