Suspicious photo takers - white van etc - for real!

I have been out and about this weekend. I met up with a dodgy horsey person i know - it helps to know dodgy people

Anyway they brought up this white van thing.
They told me it is for real. Photo's are taken of the horses and sold on the internet. All the horses when sold are shipped abroad.
I will be passing this information on. It has happened and is happening!!
This is not a scare or rumour - i have not taken it too seriously until now.
Passports mean nothing, they are so easily done. We have a horse with two passports!
Please be vigilant.
 
I've just put a thread on Stolen - Horses taken in Keighley West yorks, and Bacup - apparently Horsewatch newsflash!

9 ASSORTED COBS WERE STOLEN LAST NIGHT FROM CANNOCK IN STAFFORDSHIRE AND A FURTHER FIVE WERE STOLEN LAST NIGHT FROM LICHFIELD IN STAFFORDSHIRE.

Horsewatch have formally released details, as they think that these horses will be either shipped abroad or sold through Appleby Fair in a few weeks time.

They seem to be targetting coloureds, irish types and mares with foals at foot. They are more interested in coloureds than plain horses. Also tack is not safe to be left in tackrooms or sheds without proper security.

The RED landcruiser and White van, plus a blue VW have all been identified as being the perpetrators vehicles. They are the same eastern european men that Horsewatch have had reports of being sighted in Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Previously to that it was Kent and the home counties.

Please pass on any information to the police if you have any information relating to these thefts."
 
I wish i knew. My dodgy informant does not even know how to turn a computer on. If people who have spotted these men could traul the sites they may see their horse. Do they have sites only for abroad? I cannot remember the countries now. There has to be phone numbers with the ads.
I am going to Appleby so will be able to get some 'For real' information. Not saying they are there, they are targetting dodgy dealers and travellers as well. Maybe these are the best people to catch them

This stolen coloured horses report not make any sense. Where is the confirmation - there is no real news anywhere of these stolen horses.

How do you use a Red LandCruiser and a white van to steal 14 horses?

It will not help if people start circulating false rumours - I hope that whomever posted it checked this report first.

If anyone gets a report from the police, or the owners, that would be worth knowing.
 
Apparently there has been a dodgy white van and red isuzu trooper driving round Aberdeenshire taking photos of 'the scenery' which just so happen to have horses in the view..... and 8 coloured horses have been stolen from this area recently too..
