Went to a friends house for drinkies tonight, and was being driven home at 12.50am when I spotted a white transit van reg P430 MWF parked in the entranceway to the field in Charvil (east of Reading) where my daughters loan pony is kept. Asked my driver to slow so I could get registration, as entranceway to field is up a slight slope and quite narrow to get into in anything wider than a car, and only just has room for a transit to park in. Didn't get all the reg, so we turned the corner into my road, put lights out but couldn't see any activity in field, turned car round to go back and get rest of reg. only to see the van go down the toad - so we followed. Van saw us following, stopped (thank you, got reg) and let us go past then drove off.
Have reported this suspicious behaviour to police. If it was someone looking to turn around, there are plenty of much easier places to turn, if it was lovers looking for a quiet place they could have gone to the bottom of our road, so I'm quite sure they were up to no good and have reported this to police but thought the information may be of interest - van last seen heading in a Sonning direction. Will check in the morning if any feed, or haynet or fly spray has gone (as that's all that's kept on site)
