Just heard that the above show has been moved onto the all weather arena's and the indoor arena to preserve the ground at Ardingly and guarantee jumping this weekend.

Not sure what arena's will replace which rings but they had 3 grass rings planned and the only sizeable outdoor surface is the warm-up as far as I know ? They couldn't use the dressage rings for jumping could they

Haven't jumped indoors at Ardingly for almost 25 years now...so should be fun...and no studs

Surely nothing would fit in one of the dressage arena's - unless they're thinking of splitting the indoor arena into two rings and then run another ring in the large outdoor arena with warm ups in the dressage arena's?

What day are you going? I'm off to the RC champs in Lincoln on Fri/Sat but might come and watch on Sunday

The dressage arenas are only 20mx60m so wouldn't have thought they could run BSJA in them...maybe unaff at a push

The indoor wouldn't be big enough for two arena's either would it ? They used to set it up as a reasonable (though not massive) arena at one end, a small'ish warm-up at the other end, and a small'ish viewing gallery/entrance tunnel in the middle

I'm there saturday and sunday...and staying over.

I'm meant to be judging there Saturday, in the 2nd ring, so come by the judges box and say hello.

I think I'll ring them tomorrow though to make sure they need me as it's nearly a 2 hour drive from me.

Hopefully see you Saturday

will be interesting to see what they do! Has you say they havent got that much all weather to play with, think they'd be hard pushed to get more than 2rings, one in the abergavenny building and one on the rubber outdoors.

Good luck K - hope you have a successful show

I take it you're none the wiser as to the plans ?

I'll try and get over to say hi...i'm jumping 3 classes in ring 2 (i think

) on saturday, including 2 in the same class...but will be on my own until OH gets there later in the day so it could be a little chaotic.

Oh, and Trikey is making his first proper step up to 1.05m as well...so be kind...it might not be pretty

Don't take my word for it but as I understand it:

Ardingly ring classes will now be held in Sussex Arena (surface)
Balcombe classes (ring 2) will now be held indoors in Abergavenny building
Cuckfield classes (ring 3) will now be held in Abergavenney warm up arena on surface.

Anyone in doubt, ring the show secretary, Caroline, she is really helpful.

Thanks Cazzy....thankfully i'm not in ring 3 at all so saturday in the indoor will suit me just fine instead

Let's hope the Sussex Arena doesn't flood in the way it did last year...the forecast for today is wet wet wet I think

Major thanks to the organisers for actually managing to run a show at all under the circumstances though. A great effort
