Suzuki Grande vitara as a trailer tow car (Urgent)

Pretty sure that only has a towing capacity of 1500kg so depends what your towing but doesn't give you much choice .

My friend used to but when I was looking at getting a new tow car there is only 1 model which can pull enough and most are no good.

I have an 07 Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.9 ddis it has a towing capacity of 2000 kg I tow an Ifor Williams 505 with 1 14.2 pony who weighs approx 440kg.
It has always done a very good job for me and has proved reliable although a bit thirsty. You can change the type of 4 wheel drive manually too if for instance, it is icy or very wet and muddy.

this one has a towing capacity of 1850kg we dont tow anything over 14.2. biggest weght woukd be 500 kg each of the two highland ponies

Obviously you dont want to go to near to your towing limit. I have occasionally towed 2 ponies (combined weight approx 800kg but only once or twice as a favour and only very short distances of a couple of miles or so. The car still towed very well but as I said I really only need it for one pony. I would happily use it to tow one heavier horse and I have had one tb in the trailer and again the the car did a really good job, but really only you can decide whether the car you are considering will be suitable for what you need. I have no hesitation in recommending it for the job that I use mine for. Good luck

Odd max tow capacity - what are the top two figures on the 4 figure weight plate which is usually hidden under the bonnet or in a door frame ?

We towed with a Grand Vitara XL7 and it was fab. Apparently, very few were made and even fewer made it to the UK. Not sure a smaller model would cope TBH.

When the old girl finally packed up we upgraded to a Shogun which we love.
