swapping trailer for horsebox

Evening, I have taken the plunge and decided to change the 4x4 and trailer for a smaller runabout and horsebox. unfortunately i have done it the wrong way round and part exd the 4x4 before selling the trailer.Duh!

Having looked around i have decided i need a 5 or ton box ( although these dont seem so popular, and yes afraid to say i am old enough to hold a licence to drive it), the 3.5 tons just wont take the payload and i think i would leave a trail of destruction behind me if i drove a 7.5 ton, they are just too scary.

My question is does anyone know of any horsebox manufacturers 'near' yorkshire who woud take the trailer as part exchange, it is practically brand new. I can part ex with a company down south but now the car has gone i can't get it there, thats my conumdrum ...
.....any advice gratefully appreciated


oh and yes i know i can wait for it to sell privately - I am just not that patient lol ;)

I would think it will be a lot better if you have cash in hand and not a deal with a trailer
to swap in I would put it on ebay for a quick sale by the time you have found a lorry it will be sold if you are realistic with price, my guess is a dealer will want to see about a £1000 profit out of your trailer if he is doing a PX deal !!!!
 
Don't convince yourself you can't drive a 7.5 ton lorry. If you can drive a 5 ton, then quite honestly a 7.5 isn't that much bigger! I have just bought myself a horsebox (7.5 ton) at a mature age and after a couple of times I found it quite easy to drive. I still worry about taking it out on my own, but that is a confidence thing, because once I am driving it I am fine. The only thing that worries me now is hill starts, because I drive an automatic car on a daily basis. However, I haven't done badly and plan my routes carefully to avoid any really difficult hill starts. :D
