Got to the farm this morning and my TB was half soaked (neck/with areas) and rug was damp. He was acting as normal and if it wasnt for him being damp then I wouldnt have thought twice about it as he was acting completely normal

He had his thick fleece on (like me other did) he then scoffed his breafast an Ive left him munching away at his net ... this has never happened before ..

any ideas what it could be? Im assuming something must have happened over night? x

Possible he was over rugged but if he's sweating that profusely I would imagine something has happened overnight that has upset him. This happened once to a horse on a yard I was at some years ago. The horse was dripping with sweat, wasn't over rugged & on checking him over & also looking at the stable he had a few minor injuries & there were some new marks on the walls. To this day we don't know what happened, but clearly something had.

Yer hopefully it will be that but it wasnt particuarly warm when I left them last night (and he's a bit mard) - my arab who had a lightweight on wasnt at all sweaty .. he didnt seem stressed so hopefully he will be fine tonight :(

As Amymay! Over-rugged! Get 'em off. Nature provided horses with a super-efficient rug. You don't say whether he is clippped or not. Even clippped, horses in a mild March do not need to be over-coddled. Our vet goes spare when he sees horses wrapped up to the eyeballs.

Obviously, if you reduce the rugging and he's still sweating, you will need to think again.
