Sweaty Jockey Skull Cap

Can anyone offer some advice? My OH complained to me yesterday that my jockey skull cap smells really sweaty and also my hair.

Any suggestsion of how to get to smell more fragrance.

You can buy deodorizers but i had a reacting to the one i used from Red Rum i got a rash on my forehead but i do have sensitive skin.

you can buy hat cleaners and deodorizers from most tack shops! I use them and they work wonders

Ditto the above. You might find that if your hat is quite old and well used it might be difficult to really get it clean and fresh again - but hat cleaners used regularly on a new hat work wonders. I now do mine once a week.

This might be a no no but I upturn my ventair in the sink, fill it up with hot water and give it a good scrub out with washing powder, then put it in the airing cupboard to dry. I dont think they are ideally supposed to get that wet but the amount my head sweats it gets pretty wet anyway, and its the only way I can get it really clean.

I wear a cotton bandanna under my hat for schooling/hacking at home and wash that regularly- keeps hat alot less pongy! I've got the Charles Owen hat with the panels that velcro off so you can wash them!

Get the charles and Owen Adventura hat. Its fab . stopped the sweaty head syndrome. Has vents in it and a mesh type lining.

The Charles Owen hat cleaner and deodoriser are brilliant! I had to refresh my hat last week as it was smelling so much! Now it smells fresh as a daisy.

Also - dry shampoo works wonders if you have to go somewhere straight from the yard and can't wash your hair.
