Brought my mare in last night and thought she had got wet as it piddled it down last night, but went up this morning and just her neck was wet (after brushing it last night when I left it was dry). Not just a patch of her neck but all up it and on both sides.
Don't know whether it's me being paranoid and she's actually been laying down and resting her neck on a wet bit of bed (yes I did sniff her neck and I suppose it didn't smell that nice..!). Friend on the yard reckons she's just rested on wet but I'm worrying, and searching t'internet and coming up with all sorts of things about Cushings hasn't helped.
Any ideas before I call the vet?
Tepid tomato and basil soup on offer for anyone reading..!

can she hang her head out the door?? - Could she have been rained on?? (my mare is insistent on doing this in the most horrible of rain!!!)

did she seem agitated or generally uncomfy?

I would go with the wet bedding and keep and eye on it :)

Definately not rain - she's in a big American barn, good idea though!!

She's not agitated at all, in fact seems very perky! The only thing that is weird is she is a bit funny about her mane being touched, someone has attempted to pull it but made a total hash of it and given up half way (nice). She's getting better at letting me brush it, and once she's relaxed she doesn't twitch or fidget so I don't think she's in pain anywhere on her neck, but possibly remembers a bad experience?

Clairew - thats exactly how my boy was this morning! he to is stabled in a barn type of yard, he was dry last night but sweated up this morning ( he's not rugged either ), I have no idea why either.

Its very mild, maybe shes just too warm. My clipped boy felt warm tonight and I now wish Id swapped his rug for a lighter one.,
