Swede - cooked or raw for dangling in stable?

As per title! Just got out the drill and realised that I had assumed the swede should be "au naturel" and that maybe I shouldn't just make assumptions like that

Raw otherwise they could pull it off the string immediately.
I get the maintenance guy at the yard to drill holes in them with a power drill to thread the string through.

Same here, the one who likes them can get one down far faster than I can make a hole in it & hang it up. Now I just chuck it on the floor & he rolls it into a corner & starts grating away with his teeth.
