Had some terrible news last night. My friend had to have her gorgeous yearling, Beau, put to sleep. She was an absolute star, a real sweety and was showing great potential, she was placed 6th at Bucks County in the Potential Sports Horse class a few weeks ago.
She was woken by her neighbours who had walked through her field and saw Beau on 3 legs. Her mother had kicked her on the hock and broken her leg. She took her up to Newmarket but there was nothing that could be done for the poor girl.
My poor friend is absolutely devastated, she doted on that horse.
What makes it worse is the fact that the mare did it, my friend can't bear to even look at her at the moment.
