Morning all, I'm a bit late posting, only just woken up.
Mother will be round shortly to help clear out my breakfast room so am drinking plenty of coffee so I can cope with her yapping

I'm up and am about to take my car to the garage, as my speedo has a fun habit of suddenly dropping to 0 so I don't know what speed I'm doing.
Plus, my car is making a rattling, purring noise when I drive it, so going to get that checked, hope its nothing expensive.

well an online study day. Just packed kids and hubby off to school/work and I am now off to the stables. Then back home for a bacon sarnie before I tackle the online work and housework urh!! Sun is shining although a bit cold but who cares!

Hi All!!
What a lovely day... if a little cold!
Horlicks was good last night - mainly walked and a little trot and just got her to stretch her neck long and get her walking out. I done think she has muscle issues as after I rode her, I had a feel and she didn't seem to dip her back. She has got a scabby back though, so washed it all with teatree shampoo.
Got lesson tonight, so looking forward to that.

So, I`m at work, far to nice a day to be at work!

when I get home its an evening of given my youngster an injection and TRYING to get danilon into him. It would be easier to get him to tap dance on a beach ball....

Going to create a post to see if anyone has any ideas!
 
Morning all!
Today I am 'working' from home. I will actually have to start to do something soon as someone else needs the file I have.

Might go for a looksie round the secondary school we're just out of catchment for but are the nearest non catchment (nearer than half it's catchment in fact) with another mum this morning, as they've an open morning. Would prefer daughter to go to this school as it's generally better, smaller and not in the middle of being rebuilt like the one we're in catchment for, but will have to see what daughter thinks when we go on the open evening next week.

Sam when you've finished clearing out you're welcome to start ours: almost 14 years of cr*p collected, we almost never throw stuff out.

Lippy glad Horlicks seems fine, do you think the scabby back had owt to do with it??

Nickie I would think your speedo cable is detatching itself, which could be the whirring noise, mind you a lot of things are all electronic now so no idea how they work. Will make your car lower mileage than it is if the speedo isn't going round.

Trussardi I hope you get work in enough volume to retain your job but still allow time online. We're quite quiet at work after a very very busy August, but I think once pay day has been we'll be back to busy again, so am taking advantage today/tomorrow.

Nicki85 & Skippydo great weather for a hack - I am going to the RS tomorrow lunchtime for a hack too, so hope the sun lasts.
 
we're quite lucky here, i work in sales but we worked so damn hard previously we have no more of our customers to call - so we're sitting ducks until the next week when a surge of people wanting to buy heating oil comes in - can't wait

plus i get my promotion in january so i'm very excited! hopefully it means i can afford some sort of transport for me and my pony!

ive done all morning stuff which included a complete muck out of cleos stable. am just waiting for lady who's taken archie out to get back before i go out, as if we meet cleo will behave like idiot.

was meant to be riding with sharer for other cob but car broke down
 
Morning all, Lovely sunny day here, if a little breezy!

so haven't had my 9am cup of coffee yet (major requirement before starting on day's tasks:)

Had a morning and a half with Da Min this morning- got up and looked out window to see him standing grazing sans rug. Despite my half wakened state, I was pretty sure he had one on last night

So off out I go to investigate, only to find his last remaining shoe is only half on (has thrown all shoes in the past week-overdue for farrier who is up next week thankfully), so had to remove that

then go search for missing rug.

I found it in a sodden heap at the top of the park, all straps intact except the fillet string which he'd unclipped on one side, a little bit of wind behind him, a quick buck and hey presto, rug is off!! He hasn't performed this houdini act for a couple of years. Monkey!

Thankully hasn't hurt himself in the process.

Came back down to find new boy has pulled up a plastic leccy post in his teeth and is swinging it back and forwards merrily. Why do we have horses?!!!!

On the upside, Minnie and new boy Smithie are getting on great despite little Shettie deciding to throw a season seeing as there's a new boy in town. Will post pics and details of Smithie, who arrived on Sunday, when I have time to upload them.

Oh and my new saddle arrived yesterday too

Ooh Trussardi that reminds me must ring the neighbours and see if anyone wants heating oil too, we ring and get a quote for filling 2 or 3 of us on same trip usually get a penny or so off per litre - pm me and I'll ring your company too (do you cover Berkshire?)
 
Dubsie - I'm not sure. I'm hoping it was more a fact her skin was sore from the scabs than actual muscle pain.
Its down to bad horse management (not on my behalf!) She gets ridden, sweats up under saddle, and then doesn't get hosed/groomed after, so hence the scabby skin! I've been riding her with my Prolite pad, and then washing her off, but I guess thats RS for you - Money is tight, so not all horses can have Prolite pads!!

They should just sell her to me really!!
