Sweet iron bits?

What are people's opinions on these? Do they work- ie encourage the horse to salivate? My horse currently has an eggbutt snaffle with small rings. (For some reason we found he goes better with the smaller rings).

Are they available with smaller rings?

My boy likes them and they do encourage salivation. My boy likes to have his bits switched around I have two sweet irons in the mix.

I moved to them after my Haffie ate through a Happy mouth bit a fortnight...) she has been happy in her French link sweet iron ever since

Mine came with a sweet iron french link snaffle and while we've been via other bits for different purposes in the 9 years since (mainly a NS lozenge thing) he seems happier currently back in his sweet iron again. Does make him salivate more.

Another question- Is a 'copper enriched' bit as good? I'm having real trouble finding a sweet iron one in the right size.

We tried knobberpony in one after she ate 2 happy mouth bits in 4 months.She loves it and I can hear her slurping away at it.She holds it in her mouth when I'm trying to untack her because she loves it so much.Hers is a french link because she used to throw her head about with the happy mouth straight bar,she's stopped doing it now.
