Hi everyone, my horse this year has really started to suffer with really bad sweet itch. She has suffered previously but creams and sprays have always kept it at bay. I have got her a sweet itch rug as this year the creams were no longer helping her and she was constantly itching.
My question is once the rug is on is that it until the summer/Autumn is out? Or is it a weather thing which can be taken on and off weather dependant. She has a very thick coat and is clipped regularly as she gets sweaty easily.
Will the rug make her warmer and suffer in heat? She lives out all year round and I don't have the option to stable her currently. I just don't want the summer heat to make her suffer.
