Sweet itch/ hood question

does anybody know if there is a hood that you can use without a body? My cob has started to rub his mane but wouldn't say it was full blown sweet itch, I am using killitch and coopers but wondered about a rug like a boett, I just wondered if anyone had used just a hood as he doesn't rub anywhere but his mane. It may also be that he is a hot itchy cob and nothing to do with sweetitch, in which case would a rug/ hood make it worse? any ideas? Please discuss...:)
 
I'm new to SI so this was my first year of buying rugs for my mini - I started off with a snuggy set and bought the full hood that comes down and attaches behind the front legs. I've heard really good reviews about the Snuggy sets but the first morning I came down to mine he had managed to pull it over his head and was stood in the field whinnying because he couldn't see or eat and was too afraid to move! It's a shame because I would think it's an ideal hood for someone like you as it covers the face and neck and as it attaches so far down you would think it would be fairly difficult to shift it.

I now have Boett sets and am having much more success.The hood has some elastic which goes behind the ears and under the chin if that makes sense. However it won't cover his mane and they don't make a hood & neck piece all in one so you'd need the full outfit.

My TB is also itching her mane a fair bit at the moment but she hasn't got SI so it's just the time of year and the midges etc that are about now. I use Summer Nights spray on her from BiteBack and it works really well.
 
Hi, one of my boy has sweet itch - he wears a snuggy headless hood then a fly mask and a fly rug with belly piece and huge tail flap. The hood hardly moves and isnt secured by the rug.
He also has a snuggy hood with a head piece on - this slips a little but not much to cause any problems - i just make sure it is pulled foward a little more than normal when he goes to bed and then again in the morning.

I got one of his off ebay and the other from preloved website (loads bargains on there)
