Anyone know about it?
My 5 yr old gets sweet itch and was wondering of anyone had any experiance on the injection. Or any advice would be great thanks. She wears a rambo hoody and i put garlic and d-itch in her feeds.

My mare has had sweet itch for years. tryed loads of things. she has had the injection and medication for two years. work quite well. however it was a trial and due to people not filling in the questionaire they are no longer running it!!!http://www.sweet-itch.co.uk/trials.html the website is still very useful for management advice. i can recomend the blanket as well.

My friends welsh D has sweet itch really bad, he even humps the ground to rub his belly and sheath, she had blood tests done to see what he was allergic to and he's allergic to loads of stuff, including sycamore trees and she's surrounded by them!
She's had him on the injections since September and they haven't really worked, but that might be because he's so bad, and he's only just turned 6, and her OH wont sell him as its his horse.

my pony suffers as well currently he is rugged all year round with fly rugs from spring to autumn, he has garlic and marmite in his feed and we hog his mane (a little welsh cob so we can get away with this) all of these things make him comfortable through the summer.

2 years ago he had injection as he was very grumpy about his neck being touched and when ridden if my son put his hand on neck he bucked. this was 2 weeks before PC club so we decided to have the injection and it worked a wonders within 48 hours he was comfortable and by time wore off (approx 6 weeks) we could gt back on top of managing it.

The only downside is possible risk of injection causing laminitis

My mare developed sweet ictch when I bought her that was about seven years ago so I have tried lots. I clip her all year round I also keep her in her sweet itch blanket 24-7. She is 16.3Hh so the boett rug would be really expensive for her but I use the pagony fly rug which is the exact replica and works really well. I also use camrosa which seems to do the trick.
