I have always used the PE Sweet Itch rug which has been very effective and the pony in question has not suffered at all (apart from getting hot). Have just found the Weatherbeeta Sweet Itch Shield Combi Fly Rug and wondered if anyone had tried it as it is half the price.

Following as may be interested for my pony, although it's only 600 denier, and the 1000 denier Rambo Sweet Itch Hoody is what I currently use - I'm not sure 600d would survive my little thug!

I've been giving the weatherbeeta one a go for new pony (at least until the Rambo Hoodies are on sale) and it's actually a pretty nice rug. I like the foam padding either side of the withers to raise it off said withers, and am contemplating installing similar in the Rambos. The tailflap could afford to be bigger, but I like that the belly flap is adjustable on both sides, for the price it's pretty good.

As for toughness, pony is in a fully electric fenced field, so nothing it itch or catch on, but so far it's held up to general horse stuff like running and rolling.
