You know... and I don't know if this is odd, or what, but I've not seen a single horse here with sweetitch (and I've seen plenty of horses) Perhaps we don't have the same bugs?
Hi, my mare suffers with sweetitch quite badly, I have no signs yet, but then i have treated myself to a boett this year, so i am hoping she will hold off for at least another month.
But i have started putting the boett on her already because as you said we have had some mild days recently and the midges have been around too.

my horse has started rubbing his tail, am going to worm him on the weekend and have put lice powder on as one of the girls at the yard told me they can often come out around this time of year but i'm not sure. Doesn't hurt to do it though
Tail rubbing started a couple of weeks ago so started slapping beezlebug on him. This cold spell seems to have rid of most of the midges so he's been better but doubt it'll be for long.
