Swelling 3 weeks after bandage removed

My horse had a bandage on his front leg for little over 4 weeks from a abscess on the inside of his leg since being removed the vet did say his leg would swell however it’s still swollen 3 weeks later and also where the knee swells up immediately where the bandage finished it still is swollen ? He’s sound and can prod and poke with no pain

Is he getting turned out? if stood in then the circulation is likely to be just sluggish and will probably improve once out, if he is getting out and that is not reducing the swelling I would be a bit concerned that there is an issue and get the vet back.

How did you get on? I still have a little bit of swelling but I’m not convinced the abscess has fully drained. Also worried about this like infection.
