My 6 year old horse has always had slight swelling at the top of the extensor tendon underneath the front of each hock. When I had her vetted 6 months ago the vet said it was quite common and nothing to worry about. I have just been away for a few days and noticed that the one on the left hind was bigger and very slightly warm. The vet was due to come for vaccination on Friday last week so I got her to check it and she says that she is one tenth lame on the left hind. I can't see the lameness so she could have always been like this! She told me to only ride her lightly (walk and trot) and is coming back again to check tomorrow. If still lame then I will need to have scans/x-rays to see what is causing it. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be? Thanks
