Went to school my horse tonight, warmed up began to trot and he was lame! I jumped off trotted him and he wasn't right but not that lame. Checked him over, no problems with feet, no cuts but I did come across a small swelling on the inside of his leg.. My immediate thought was tendon injury.. No heat, horse wasn't uncomfortable when it was touched, happy to weight bare etc.. Got our yard manager to have a look as she is very experienced with the majority of injuries and she thought it was nothing & not in the right area for a tendon injury, especially as he wasn't bothered by it.. I cold hosed it anyway & gave him a bute. The only way I can explain it is that it looked like a vein that was swollen..if that makes sense..it was above the fetlock right in the middle of the inside of his leg. My horse is the worlds biggest woose & will be lame over a bruise & then fine after a few days.
