B has a swelling in his leg and I'm not sure what it might be. While we were riding last thursday he all off a sudden became dead lame in his near front as we were trotting along, I thought that he must have stood on a stone or something coz when I jumped off he very quickly walked it off and has been sound a pound since. However, I have noticed small swellings - like windgalls but at the top of his cannon on the inside just below the kneee joint. This does seem to fill more when he is stood in so I have been keeping him out as much as possible and just walking on hacks. Do you think these'll go down or are they gonna be like windgall type swellings or do you think they are to do with this lameness?? I'm not overly concerned as there is no heat and he is sound in all paces.

Sounds identical to my cob last december- the scan showed check ligament damage. Very little heat and he was only lame for a couple of days but he had 6 months in the field before i bought him back into work...

If in doubt always get a vet to confirm, could be nothing...or could be something serious and you dont want to make it any worse in the meantime, there are so many lumps an bumps they can get its hard to describe exactly what it looks like or what it could be.

Hope its nothing too bad
