Hi, as above, can you recommend me somewhere to take my girls for a swim? Preferably not a picnic type area that will be swarming today!

Sorry, only just read your post. I'm in East northamptonshire and have a super lake nearby. It depends which part of bedfordshire you are.

This one is near Wollaston, (nr wellingborough) It is on the Wollaston-Doddington Road, (Hardwater Road.) nr Summerlees Nature reserve.
A lovely walk around the lake and lots of easy access places for the dogs to swim. I'm heading there myself this afternoon. PM me if you want more info.
