Swimming (horses nt people)

We have a race horse who has arthritis in one fetlock. He has had a course of 5 IRAP injections and is now ready to come back into work, then go back into training in Sept/Oct. The vet surgested that swimming maybe a better way to go while we start to build up his fitness as it will mean he can work without putting to much strain on the joint.

Have any of you swam horses before? And could anyone surgest a facility we could take him to? We're in North West England.

My mare has just spent 6 weeks @ Higher Spen Equestrian Centre in Fence, Burnley, can highly recommend it, Jane who runs it is a lovely person and looks after the horses really well.
