I am thinking of taking Grace for some swimming lessons for her ligament, but cannot find any near to here

The only thing I can find is the hydrotherapy spas...

I was also wondering whether they are good for horses with ligament problems and if a post-colic surgery horse could use this facility?

I have been up to Higher Spen but only to use the Hydrotherapy spa not the actual pool. I saw it while I was there and wouldn't hesitate to use it. The staff are very professional. Let me know how you get on if you decide to go.

Both my lads have been in the pool at Higher Spen and coincidentally I'm taking them both for a swim tomorrow afternoon. Jane who runs the place is lovely and very very good with the horses. It would be brilliant for Grace and she'll be in excellent hands.

Oh yes, that goes without saying...

On their website it says with any recovery the liase with your vet treating anyway which is what appealed to me

Hopefully Ged will be there

. I've hired a 3.5t box and I don't know whether he will load onto it or not. He can be a bit funny with strange boxes anyway, and on top of that I've no idea if he's ever been in a small box. He won't load into a trailer so anything could happen tomorrow! But even if Ged says no I'll still be there with my grey Haj. You're very welcome if you can make it - be nice to see you

Thanks Angela... Ged won't like small boxes because they are not superior enough for him. He would like to travel in a 10 horse horsebox, with him alone in the middle being fed top quality hay by hand!

Yes the one at Rathmell is called The Northern Equine Therapy Centre. They also have a vet centre there & are use to dealing with rehab work.I use to work there. You an give Gail or Stuart a ring & they will sort out all your questions!
