I turned our 3 horses out into a different field yesterday which has a slightly boggy bit at the side of it. This morning I went to catch them and noticed considerable swelling on the outside of my mares back leg (starting from about 4inches below the hock to the fetlock joint). She is very lame in trot and a little in walk aswell. I think it is probably a sprain but not totally sure. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be and also tips for faster healing. (The vet is coming out tomorrow).
