my friend has an ex racer whos got very easy to damage legs! he got loads of little cuts along his back legs and they had swollen up. that was a week ago hes been on a 5 day course of antibiotics, and they are still very hot an swollen.

he went out in the field today and the swelling came down a bit, and iv advised loaner to cold hose them, owner is away on holiday... should i call the vet if they havent gone down by the week end?

anything else i can do?

I shouldnt panic if he has been on antibiotics, horses legs often stay swollen for a while after cuts, if he is sound you could take him out for a good long walk, to get the lymphatic system moving again, and turn him out as much as possible. Take his temperature if your worried he still might have an infection, if its okay i shouldnt worry.
