Went to turn my boy out this morning and he had a really swollen chin. Just at the top of his lip (where it goes bony), was really swollen. Do they have glands there???
He wasn't tender on it, and I had a look in his mouth for any food tucked in there, but nothing. He gets grass glands behind his jaw line, but I have never seen this before. Any ideas?

Could have just knocked himself? I would ring your vet for advice - they aren't going to charge you for that - then at least you know whether to be worried or not.

Hope it gets better!

Yeah I thought that at first, but then would have thought it would be tender to touch, but he didnt even flinch. Its really saggy, like excess skin, not a hard swell at all. If its still there tonight I will give them a call.

One of the horses at our yard has a swollen chin at the moment and the vet has put it down to her being allergic to something. She's on anti inflamatories but didn't seem bothered by it.
